Police are looking for a Goose Creek man they say was buying cocaine on Charleston's East Side last month.
Eugene Stanley Rollerson, 23, of Claussen Drive is wanted on a charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.
An officer said he saw Rollerson involved in a transaction at Sheppard and Nassau streets at 8:47 a.m. Jan. 22, according to the affidavit with the arrest warrant. A man handed Rollerson a plastic bag containing a white substance while they were standing on the sidewalk next to a car, according to the affidavit. Then Rollerson and a man got in the car and drove off.
The car was later stopped in a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for having a suspended license and Rollerson was released.
Officers said they later discovered the bag inside the car's gas cap. The bag turned out to contain 6.07 grams of cocaine base worth $600 on the street, according to the affidavit.
A warrant was issued for Rollerson's arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
