Citadel guard Ashton Moore has been named the Southern Conference basketball player of the week after averaging 28.5 points in two games.
Moore, a junior from Suffolk, Va., scored a career-best 35 points in Monday night's 83-76 loss to Davidson, the most points by a Citadel player since 1995. That followed a 22-point performance at Furman last week.
For the week, Moore averaged 28.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals, making 8 of 12 shots from 3-point range.
The Bulldogs are at Western Carolina on Saturday.
