A South Carolina woman is still paying the price for allegedly failing to return a VHS copy of "Monster-In-Law" to a video rental store eight years ago.

Kayla Michelle Finley, 27, of Pickens was arrested and charged Thursday with failure to return a rented video cassette, according to multiple media reports.

According to Fox Carolina WHNS, warrants allege Finley rented the movie starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda from Dalton Video in 2005 and failed to return the tape within 72 hours. The warrant also alleges she was sent letters to return the video but never responded.

The store has since closed.

Finley was served with the warrant Thursday after she went to the Pickens County Sheriff's Office for another matter. She spent the night in jail and was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond Friday morning, according to WYFF.

Finley, who intends to fight the charges, has become Internet famous. The story has appeared worldwide, including on Gawker, Huffington Post and USA Today.
