Dorchester County call center handling complaints of debris, damage
The Dorchester County Citizen Call Center is handling reports of damaged homes and debris on secondary roads throughout the county.
According to a news release, residents are encouraged to push debris to the road for collection. Crews will be deployed throughout the county to assess any damage, the release said.
Officials urge citizens to remain off the roads tonight and Saturday morning due to the potential for black ice, downed power lines and debris.
Red Cross volunteers will open a shelter at St. George Middle School at 6 p.m. The shelter will remain open until further notice, officials said.
Sandy Pines and Miles Jamison yard debris sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
