"This is easily one of the Top 3 galleries we've ever had," one of our editors said today after flipping through all 74 entries in this week's Close-up assignment.
Everyone agreed with him.
Not only are there great photos this week, there were so many of them.
Among the editors' favorites: Leah Sparks' bird with lunch in its mouth; Linda Howie and Dave Chellis' little green critters and Brent Paape's elephant. We challenge you to look through them all and pick a favorite. It's not easy.
In the end, everyone agreed they really liked Jean St. Arnauld's close-up of droplets of water on a rose bush in her West Ashley garden. Pick up a copy of the People section Friday to read more from the editors.
Next week's assignment: Joy.
- Send just one (1) photograph to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.
- If you want your photo to be eligible to run in the newspaper, it must be at least 1,500 pixels. Our editors will select which photo will appear each week. We reserve the right to not publish any photo for any reason.
- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
