The Lowcountry will experience winter weather conditions late tonight through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
An ice storm warning will go into effect around midnight for inland areas, including Walterboro, St. George, Summerville and Moncks Corner. A winter storm watch for Charleston is expected to last until Thursday morning, according to the Weather Service.
A 90 percent chance of precipitation is expected today with winds up to 25 mph. The Lowcountry may experience freezing rain as temperatures drop from the mid 40s into the 30s tonight, the Weather Service reports.
Wednesday: Freezing rain will continue into Wednesday morning with highs around 40 and lows in the mid 30s. A near 100 percent chance of precipitation is expected with wind gusts up to 30 mph.
Thursday: There will be a chance of freezing rain Thursday morning with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 30s. Wind gusts will reach up to 25 mph.
