Traffic rerouted on the peninsula following 18-wheeler wreck, Charleston police say

Traffic is being rerouted on the peninsula after an 18-wheeler crashed into a utility pole at Meeting and Woolfe streets.

The vehicle left the scene of the wreck, according to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis.

SCE&G officials are at the scene making repairs, Francis said. Traffic is being diverted while authorities work the scene, he said.

Drivers should expect delays in that area.
