A handful of evening flights and at least two morning flights have been cancelled at Charleston International Airport Tuesday because of the winter weather conditions in Charlotte and Atlanta, two big connection points for Charleston travelers.
US Airways canceled a scheduled arriving flight at 10:16 a.m. from Charlotte and a departing flight at 11 a.m., also to Charlotte.
Other canceled flights are in the evening, according to Charleston County Aviation Authority.
US Airways has canceled its 7:10 p.m. flight from Charlotte to Charleston, while Delta Air Lines has canceled three flights from Atlanta to Charleston scheduled to arrive at 7:35 p.m., 8:35 p.m. and 10:59 p.m.
Delta also canceled 3:25 p.m. and 5 p.m. flights to Atlanta, while US Airways called off a 5:44 p.m. flight to Charlotte.
Passengers and people picking up passengers are urged to check with airlines before leaving for the airport to see the status of flights, according to airport spokeswoman Charlene Gunnells.
