Residents of several neighborhoods off Ashley Phosphate Road are advised to boil their drinking water until further notice.
The Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department issued an advisory for the Windsor Hill Plantation area off Ashley Phosphate Road Monday. The advisory includes Indigo Palms, The Colony, Governor's Estate, Moultrie Place, Ricefield, Beckton Street, Sutton Place and Pepper Ridge.
The advisory was issued because a water line was being repaired Monday. When the water supply is restored, customers are advised to boil their water vigorously for at least one full minute before drinking or cooking. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking. Notification will be given as soon as the water is safe for consumption. Questions can be directed to Customer Service at 832-0075 or 563-0075.
