A masked man stormed into a James Island pizza restaurant and stole $850 in cash Wednesday night, Charleston County sheriff's deputies report.

According to Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson, the armed robbery occurred around 9:20 p.m. at Little Caesar's Pizza, 861 Folly Road.

Witnesses told deputies that the suspect demanded the money from the restaurant's safe at gunpoint. The armed man wore a black mask, a green hooded jacket and black gloves, Watson said. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Sheriff's deputies used a K-9 unit to search for the suspect, but they did not locate him Wednesday night.
