NORTH, S.C. -- Orangeburg County deputies say a 23-year-old woman shot and killed her boyfriend after he dragged her back into a house in North and punched her in the head.
Investigators said the couple started arguing around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when 24-year-old Jeremy Williamson found papers about an arrest in Lexington County in his girlfriend's purse.
The woman told deputies she tried to call her mother, but Williamson refused to let her use the phone. Then when she went outside, the woman says Williamson pulled her back inside and punched her.
Investigators say the woman got a gun and Williamson charged at her. The gun fired, hitting Williamson in the stomach. He died several hours later at the hospital.
Deputies are still investigating and no charges have been filed.
