Picture book coming from Carey, Cannon
NEW YORK - Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are working on a children's book.
Scholastic announced Thursday that it has acquired the couple's "Roc and Roe's Twelve Days of Christmas," a picture story scheduled for release this fall. Illustrated by A.G. Ford, the book is a holiday tale featuring twins Moroccan and Monroe, to whom Carey gave birth in 2011.
Cochran to get marker on country music trail
ISOLA, Miss. - The late Hank Cochran, a consummate songwriter who composed a string of country hits including "Make the World Go Away" for Eddy Arnold, is being honored Tuesday with a marker on the Mississippi Country Music Trail.
The marker will be placed on U.S. Highway 45 in his home town of Isola, Miss. Cochran died in 2010 at his home north of Nashville. He was 74.
Hancock co-wrote several No. 1 hits: Patsy Cline's "I Fall to Pieces"; George Strait's "Ocean Front Property"; and "Set 'em Up Joe" by Vern Gosdin.
Dance show to hold New Orleans' auditions
NEW ORLEANS - Fox's Emmy-winning reality TV competition show, "So You Think You Can Dance," is looking for dancers in the Gulf Coast area.
The show is holding open-call auditions with producers in New Orleans on Friday. Call-backs will perform for the show's judges Saturday. The judges scheduled to be in New Orleans are executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, ballroom expert Mary Murphy and actor and comedian Wayne Brady, who will be serving as a guest judge.
The show is auditioning for its 11th season and will begin airing in May.
Other cities holding auditions are Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles.
