Prominent peace and social justice activist Medea Benjamin will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Unitarian Church, 4 Archdale St. in Charleston.

Benjamin is a co-founder of CODEPINK: Women for Peace and the international human rights organization Global Exchange. She also is the author of eight books, including her latest, "Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control."

The Carolina Peace Resource Center is hosting the event.
