If you are thinking about adoption but don't know where to start, an upcoming event will offer a host of free resources.
The S.C. Bar Young Lawyers Division will hold its annual Families Forever Fair from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Felix C. Davis Community Center, 4800 Park Circle in North Charleston.
The fair offers free information on adoption, including resource materials and one-on-one consultations. Attorneys, agencies and other children's services vendors will be on hand to answer questions, provide resources and encourage families to consider foster care and adoption.
New this year: Foster parents can obtain recertification training hours for attending workshops given at the Families Forever Fairs.
The fair's sessions will tackle everything from international adoptions to DSS adoptions to financing and adoption basics.
Space in each session is limited, so attendees are encouraged to register online at www.scbar.org/adoption.
