Coffee with a Cop: Citizens can chat with Charleston police

Coffee with a Cop gives citizens a chance to sit down and chat with Charleston police officers.

Officers will be at the Chic-fil-A at 1656 Sam Rittenberg at 8 a.m. Jan. 22. All citizens are invited to attend.

“We are excited as a department to participate in this national initiative,” Chief Greg Mullen said. “It fits perfectly with our ongoing efforts to bring citizens and police officers together to discuss community issues and opportunities. When police officers and citizens come together, trust develops, partnerships form, and we all win.”

Similar events are being held across the country. The initiative is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
