Actor Kevin Costner will again be bringing his band Modern West to the Lowcountry.
Last performing in Charleston in 2012, Kevin Costner & Modern West will perform at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on April 23.
While still taking turns on the big and little screen, his latest being in the History Channel miniseries "Hatfields & McCoys" and playing the role of Superman's adopted father in "Man of Steel," Costner has spent the last few years focusing much of his energy on his band, beginning with the release of their 2008 debut, "Untold Truths."
Previously stating that music was his first love, the history of the band goes back more than 20 years when Costner met John Coinman in a Los Angeles acting workshop. As it was, Coinman was a musician with an interest in acting and Costner was an actor with an interest in music.
Along with Blair Forward, they became the band Roving Boy, and continued to get together behind-the-scenes as Costner's star rose.
But it wasn't until Costner's wife, Christine, encouraged him to reconnect with his love of music that the band evolved in 2005 into Modern West, adding guitarist/producer Teddy Morgan and drummer Larry Cobb.
Ticket for Kevin Costner & Modern West will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Prices for the show are $45.50-$65.50, with a limited number of gold circle seats available. Tickets available at the North Charleston Coliseum Advance Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets (including select Publix
