The year 2013 marked the second consecutive year of double-digit growth in Lowcountry home sales, according to a report released Friday.
The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors' preliminary home sales report said 12,901 homes exchanged hands in 2013.
That's up 22 percent from the 10,574 homes sold in the Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties in 2012. The region's home sales for 2012 were up 13.3 percent compared to 2011.
The association's 2013 report released on Friday withheld median sales data and other information for the year. The Realtor association plans to release the data during its 2013 Year in Review Market Update on Jan. 14 at the Montague Terrace in North Charleston.
