Authorities are investigating two fires to a North Charleston home and business this morning.

North Charleston firefighters were called around 5:30 a.m. to the Alsco garment and linen rental service at 4921 Chateau Ave., according to department spokeswoman Bianca Bourbeau. A fire was contained to a dryer at the business, she said.

One person was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation in the incident, she said.

Crews were later called to a mobile home on Dalton Street around 6:30 a.m.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene saw a significant amount of smoke coming from the home, Bourbeau said. Two people who live there managed to escape without injury, she said.

Flames were contained to one room. The fire's cause remains under investigation, Bourbeau said.

American Red Cross volunteers are assisting the family.
