North Charleston police have arrested a man accused of firing shots at a man and woman in a shootout on Tuesday.
Officers responded to shots fired on Popperdam Creek Drive shortly before noon, an incident report said.
Investigators located several bullet holes to the home's windows and walls, police said. The home's owner told police that a group of men fired the shots while attempting to fight his 21-year-old son.
The owner's son reported to police that he was outside talking to his child's mother when a white vehicle pulled up in front of the house. Several men jumped out of the vehicle and fired several rounds toward him and the woman, the report said.
The woman ran inside the home to retrieve a pistol and returned fire, police said.
Police later arrested Alonzo Brown, 21, of Lilac Avenue, and charged him with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, jail records show.
Brown is being held at the Charleston County jail pending a bond hearing.
