Authorities released surveillance photos of the man with a gun who walked into a Johns Island Burger King on Wednesday night and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Investigators hope someone can identify the suspect.

Charleston County sheriff's deputies were called to the restaurant at 3579 Savannah Highway at 9:41 p.m., according to the incident report.

Witnesses told deputies a man walked into the restaurant with a black handgun in his right hand and a red bag in his left hand. The man shouted that nobody should move, jumped the counter, put a gun to an employee's head and told her to open the cash drawer. He forced her to put money from the drawer and a safe in the bag and then ran from the store.

The robber was described as a black man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, between 20 and 30, wearing a black mask, a black hoodie and green pants.

The man ran from the store with an unknown amount of money, Watson said.

Dogs searched for the man but were unable to locate him Wednesday night, according to the report.
