BLACKSBURG, S.C. - The Cherokee County coroner says a 40-year-old Blacksburg man died after a vehicle fell on him while he worked on the car's exhaust system.
Coroner Dennis Fowler says Joseph Michael Hill Sr. died Saturday afternoon of asphyxiation. He has ruled the death accidental.
Fowler says Hill was working on his Mercury Cougar in the driveway of his home when one of two floor jacks gave way.
Hill was taken to Novant Health Gaffney Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
