Police are searching for clues in three shootings that erupted in North Charleston in the remaining hours before Christmas Eve.
The first shooting happened late Monday in the area of Northwoods Mall. Two vehicles near the shopping center were struck by bullets, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor. No injuries were reported in the incident, he said.
North Charleston police later responded to a residence on Hackemann Avenue around 2 a.m.
Two men told police that they had just returned from an outing to Charlie O's nightclub in North Charleston when someone fired several rounds at them.
Both men received injuries that were believed to be non-life threatening, Pryor said.
According to Pryor, the wounded men were uncooperative with investigators and maintained that they did not see the gunman who shot them. They were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Authorities received another report of shots fired at 2:25 a.m. on Ashley Shores Drive, according to officials with Charleston County's Consolidated Dispatch Center. No injuries were reported in that incident, dispatchers said.
Police do not believe that the shootings are related, Pryor said.
Anyone with information on the incidents can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
