MOUNT PLEASANT - Police have charged an 11-year-old suspect in connection with a pair of break-ins in Dunes West, including one incident in which three guns were taken, authorities said.
The boy is charged with two counts of burglary for his alleged role in break-ins that occurred at homes in the Harbor Section of Dunes West, police stated in a written release. The cases will be referred to the Charleston County Family Court, police said.
The boy is accused of participating in burglaries at 2908 Yachtsman Drive and 2978 River Vista Way, Gragg said.
Nothing was reported taken in the Yachtsman Drive incident on Nov. 28, according to an incident report.
But in the River Vista Way break-in, which occurred sometime between Oct. 15 and Dec. 2, the homeowner reported that two shotguns and a pellet gun were missing from his house after he returned from a trip, a police report stated.
The guns have been recovered, Maj. Stan Gragg said.
Police did not say if additional arrests are expected. They also did not state whether the boy lives in the neighborhood.
