CLINTON, S.C. -- Laurens County deputies and other emergency responders plan to practice what they would do in case someone started shooting at a school or other public place.
Officials say the exercise will take place Tuesday at Presbyterian College in Clinton.
Police from the college and from the city of Laurens and Clinton will join firefighters and paramedics for the drill.
Officials say the drill will help them figure out what can be done better and what is being done right in case Laurens County ever sees a mass shooting in a public place.
They are letting the public know about the exercise so they won't be alarmed at the heavy law enforcement presence at the college.
