Sam is a wheelchair-bound veteran of three wars. He is passionate about his history and loves to volunteer at a local historic site. Unfortunately, he lives alone and struggles to make ends meet on his fixed income.
Due to his disability, Sam is unable to stand up, and cooking is nearly impossible. Thanks to an agency that benefits from the Good Cheer Fund, a nutritious meal is delivered to Sam every day. He is incredibly grateful for the support he receives and doesn't know what he would do without it.
Your generous donation to the Good Cheer Fund can help show Sam and others like him that the community cares for them and appreciates the service they have given to our country.
Since 1927, contributions to The Post and Courier's Good Cheer Fund have helped the less fortunate in the Lowcountry during the holidays. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds are the Star Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, Lowcountry Food Bank, Carolina Youth Development Center, Association for the Blind and Coastal Catholic Charities. Every penny of the money goes to these agencies as there are no administrative costs involved.
Send your tax-deductible contributions to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800. Donations also may be made in person or online at www.goodcheerfund.com.
