The Charleston County Sheriff's Office Monday located the vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian in West Ashley Sunday.
While investigating the hit-and-run that killed Forrest Carlton, 22 of West Ashley, the Sheriff's Office received a tip from a concerned citizen on the whereabouts of the car. They later found it at the Middleton Cove Apartments at 2247 Ashley River Road.
The hit and run accident happened around 3 a.m. on Ashley River Road between Plainview Drive and Parsonage Road. The suspect's vehicle left the scene without providing any assistance to Carlton, who died later Sunday.
The Sheriff's Office doesn't have anyone in custody. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 202-1700 or Crime Stoppers.
