A man threatening to harm himself and others surrendered to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office on Saturday afternoon after a brief standoff with negotiators, officials said.
Jonathan Adam Turner, 23, of 2938 Ashley River Road, was in a domestic dispute with his mother, said Sheriff's Office spokesman John Clark.
Officers first responded to the address on Friday night. Things quieted down but they were called back to the address Saturday afternoon, Clark said.
The man barricaded himself in a house and was armed with a knife and gun when officers responded to the location at about 2 p.m., Clark said.
After about an hour, Turner surrendered and was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina. No one was injured during the incident, Clark said.
