A senior executive at the area’s primary business recruitment group is retiring.
The Charleston Regional Development Alliance is seeking a replacement for Hank Taylor, a former Air Force brigadier general who has been with the agency for about three years. His title is vice president of global business development.
Taylor plans to step down at the end of the year.
The alliance promotes the Charleston region to expanding businesses and other employers.
Taylor is one of three vice presidents at the 12-person nonprofit organization. He often is the first local point-of-contact after prospects call on the state Commerce Department about bringing new jobs to the Charleston area.
He also has been a frequent representative for the region at domestic and international trade expos and other events, including the Paris and London air shows.
“It’s an all-important position,” said David Ginn, the alliance’s CEO.
Ginn hopes to name a successor by February.
The alliance has hired Jorgenson Consulting to help with the national search. The Greensboro, N.C.-based firm said in a written statement that it‘s seeking “a dynamic, successful professional to provide leadership and direction in developing, coordinating and implementing its global business development strategies.”
