REMBERT, S.C. -- More than a dozen people have been arrested and 19 animals have been seized as part of a dogfighting investigation in Rembert.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says state and local officers raided a home on Thursday.
Officers found a dogfighting arena in the backyard.
In all, 13 adults were arrested and one juvenile was detained. Officers say they seized 19 dogs, seven vehicles, and about $3,000. They also found guns and marijuana.
The people who were arrested were being held at the Lee County jail, and it wasn’t known if they had attorneys.
