A Mount Pleasant man has been arrested after a Saturday night holdup at a Johns Island drugstore.
Brian Laing, 26, of Whipple Road was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday and charged with strong-arm robbery, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.
A man walked into the CVS at 1730 Maybank Highway about 5:05 p.m. Saturday and handed the pharmacist a note demanding Oxycontin, police said. The pharmacist handled him a bottle and the man left the store.
Police put out a wanted notice with shots of the man from the store’s surveillance camera. One of the photos showed tattoos on the suspect’s arms.
Laing was being held in the Charleston County jail Sunday.
