3778 Tupelo Church Lane — New two-story home in East Cooper neighborhood near Carolina Park ready for lease early next month

Renting a brand-new house can be a multiple plus for the tenant, who can be first to occupy the house, to enjoy modern features and to avoid hassles of ownership.

In the case of at least one Mount Pleasant-Awendaw area home, however, renters can go one better — leasing the property even before construction’s completed. The more-than-1,900-square-foot residence sits at 3778 Tupelo Church Lane, within the Tupelo Bay community off U.S. Highway 17 North past Mount Pleasant Hospital.

New-home builders framed the two-story house and are now wrapping up interior work such as installing a refrigerator in the kitchen and performing general cleanup.

“The home is in the final stages of construction,” says Harry F. Angel, the homeowner. He says the residence, crafted in the builder’s Hartwell design, will be available Dec. 5 for a renter to move in. The lease would be $2,100 a month.

“This new home with several upgrades will be ready for immediate occupancy upon closing,” Angel says. “Be the first to live in this great home.”

The rental house sports a bunch of perks, Angel says. The Tupelo Bay neighborhood stands five minutes from Oakland Plantation shopping center, anchored by a Walmart discount store just off Highway 17 North. Wando High School rises a few minutes away in the Carolina Park planned community.

“You will find this new Mount Pleasant home is bright with many upgrades including granite counters and wood floors in lower level,” Angel says.

The house consists of three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and a finished room over the garage that can be converted into a sleeping area.

First floor highlights include a gas fireplace and cooking appliances: The kitchen, meanwhile, opens to the family-friendly great room. A large pantry and laundry area with washer and dryer are nearby. Ceiling fans show up throughout the home. The residence also showcases an attached two-car garage.

Being located within a new-home community, tenants can take advantage of amenities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts and playground.

The residence itself showcases outdoor attractions. “This beautiful home features a backyard that backs up to woods which will never be developed,” Angel says.

Separately, a renter who savors the neighborhood but can wait a few more weeks and desires a slightly larger house can choose another Angel-owned home. This four bedroom, three bath home with FROG comes available Dec. 21 for $2,300 a month.

The Tupelo Church Lane residence sits a mile or so from Highway 17. Heading north, take Highway 17 through Mount Pleasant. Pass the Isle of Palms connector and continue eight miles. About a mile after Darrell Creek Trail on the left, turn left on Tupelo Forest Drive into the neighborhood. Take a left on Tupelo Church Lane. Ahead is 3778 Tupelo Church Lane.
