Clemson (4-0) vs. Davidson (1-3), Charleston Classic
WHEN: Friday, 9:30 p.m.
WHERE: TD Arena
TV/RADIO: ESPNU; CTSN
RECORDS (2012-13): Clemson 13-18, 5-13 ACC; Davidson 26-8, 17-1 Southern
NOTES: Davidson holds a slight 22-18 edge in the all-time series; the squads haven’t met in 20 years. In beating Temple 72-58 last night after trailing by 12, the Tigers didn’t just overcome their largest deficit in a victory in two years; they did not win a single game all last season when trailing at halftime. K.J. McDaniels has made 19 blocks in his last three games, and seven in each of the last two. Davidson, the SoCon’s two-time defending champion, has not won an NCAA tournament game since Stephen Curry brought the Wildcats to the Elite Eight in 2008, where they lost 59-57 to eventual NCAA champion Kansas. Clemson is the only team remaining in the winners’ bracket hailing from a Power 6 conference; each of the Charleston Classic’s five previous champions (including Clemson in 2008) was from a BCS league.
