Charleston man in critical condition following hit-and-run collision

A 29-year-old Charleston man is in critical condition following a hit-and run collision in West Ashley early Sunday.

Terrell Wright of Magnolia Road was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle at St. Andrews Boulevard and Colony Drive about 1 a.m., police said. The vehicle sped off after the collision, leaving Wright injured and unconscious in the roadway, a police report stated.

Wright was rushed to Medical University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision. Officers found green and black plastic pieces at the scene that apparently came from the fender of the vehicle that struck Wright, a report stated.

Anyone with information on the collision can call Charleston police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
