Seneca man charged with murder in deadly shooting
WALHALLA — A South Carolina man is under arrest for murder after a Friday night shooting at a home near Seneca.
Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says Joshua Randall Ferguson was placed under arrest shortly after noon Saturday. The 36-year-old from Seneca for murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center.
Crenshaw says Ferguson shot 46-year-old Charles Benson Cantrell of Salem. The sheriff declined to provide information about a possible motive in the killing, but says a meth lab was discovered at the crime scene.
