Local writer introduces novel based on murder
Author and Charleston resident Steve Kohlhagen will sign copies of his new historical novel, “Where They Bury You,” 4-7 p.m. Friday, at Dulles Designs, 89 Church St.
The book was published by Sunstone Press and is available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and independent book stores.
Inspired by a murder recounted in Hampton Side’s book “Blood and Thunder,” Kohlhagen delves into a crime that resulted in the death of a U.S. Marshal in Santa Fe.
The story takes place in 1861-63, during the Apache wars, the Navajo wars, the arrival of the Civil War into the Territories and the embezzlement of millions of dollars by con artists.
Kohlhagen is a former college professor and Wall Street banker.
