Today-Sunday

• The 2013 Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat will be held at the Kiawah Island Club’s River Course. The main event will take place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the 18th hole of the River Course, featuring more than 100 classic cars with a selection of 75 or more concours-quality cars to be judged by nationally recognized experts. Admission starts at $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Children under 12 are free. Military receive 50 percent off with an active duty ID. The Saturday show will include two divisions, Concours and Classic. Concours will consist of three pre-war and three post-war (1945-’74) classes. The categories are open, closed and sports and racing for both divisions. The concours division will be judged by a panel of experts. Each class winner becomes a candidate for “Best of Show – Concours d’Elegance.” The classic division, for autos 1974 and earlier, won’t be formally judged but will include People’s Choice and Mayor’s Trophy awards. A $100 a person gala will take place 6-8:30 p.m. today and include a classic car review, live music and dinner. The Sea Island Motoring Tour will be held 8:30 a.m.-noon Sunday and highlights open drives with directional “clues” around Johns, Wadmalaw and Kiawah islands. Motoring Retreat sponsors are Kiawah Fine Jewelry, Kiawah Island Real Estate, town of Kiawah Island, Kiawah Island Community Association, Freshfields Village, Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Heacock Classic Collector Car Insurance, Ultimate Autowerks, BB&T Home Mortgage and Touchpoint Communications. Saturday

• The Hanahan Fall Festival Car, Truck & Bike Show will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the new Hanahan Amphitheater and park, 3100 Mabeline Road. The event will coincide with the city of Hanahan’s 2013 Red White and Blue Fall Festival saluting the U.S. military and veterans. There will be a $10 entry fee to take part in the show. Organizers will present awards to the top 20 cars and also hand out specialty trophies. All money earned will be donated to veterans. • Rockabillaque Classic Car Show & Rockabilly Music Festival will be held 1-6 p.m. in Park Circle, 1083 E. Montague Ave. in North Charleston. The classic car event includes an awards show with trophies for Best of Show, Participants Choice, Longest Distance Traveled, Preservation Class and Best Rad Rod. The hosts are North Charleston’s vintage car restoration specialists, Nostalgia Garage and Creek Rats Kustoms. There also will be bands, pin-up contest, rockabilly fashion show, a carnival side show circus, burlesque, food including barbecue and beverages. The festival benefits The Music Initiative /This Is Noteworthy for working musicians. This is the first year of the festival, and organizer Simon Cantlon wants it to become a yearly event. • Lowcountry Muscle Car will be hosting its monthly 3rd Saturday Cruise-in at Sonic drive-in, 660 College Park Road. Arrive any time after 4 p.m. All auto clubs and “free spirits” are welcome. The Sonic crew will pick their favorite vehicle, which will earn the “ride-of-the-month” plaque. A 50/50 raffle will take place benefiting Camp Good Times, a nonprofit Summer Camp program for children with autism. Awards and drawings are at 7 p.m. For information, call Shane at 843-364-4470.

• The Charleston and Lowcountry Automotive Club Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Sticky Fingers, 1200 N. Main St. in Summerville. • The 18th Raleigh Classic Auction will take place 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds, Jim Graham and Exposition buildings, 1025 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh, N.C. More than 300 “high quality” collector cars will be displayed and up for auction, from a 1928 Packard 526 Sedan to a 2005 Bentley Continental GT. The “Star of the Show” is a 1930 Lincoln Sport Phaeton. Auctions America LLC serves as sponsor. Registered bidders get in free.
