SUMMERVILLE — Dorchester County Council takes on Obamacare on Monday. But don’t look for the fiery controversy it’s caused on the national level.
Council will hear from Justin Powell, chief financial officer, about costs and alternatives for benefits the Affordable Care Act will require for part-time employees, who currently receive no benefits. Powell also will update council on the progress the county has made toward meeting the act’s deadlines.
Councilman George Bailey will ask council to remove sweet gum trees from a protected and grand tree ordinance that restricts cutting.
The presentations are among the meeting agenda items.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the council’s Summerville chambers, 500 N. Main St. @bopete will tweet live from the meeting.
