Shrine Bowl selection Caleb Kinlaw, one of the top running backs in the state, has reversed his field.
Kinlaw, a 5-10, 186-pound Goose Creek standout, committed to Georgia Tech prior to the start of his senior season, but changed his mind and committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday.
He made an official visit to Madison over the weekend and changed his allegiance a few days later.
Kinlaw has battled nagging injuries this fall, but still has 1,057 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns. It marks the third straight year he has topped 1,000 yards.
Kinlaw committed to Georgia Tech in July over offers from Arizona, Clemson, Kansas State, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Kinlaw is the second running back in the Badgers’ recruiting class of 2014 and the 19th overall. They already have Taiwan Deal on their commitment list. He is a 225-pound running back from Hyatsville, Md.
The Badgers are also recruiting Joe Mixon, a 6-2, 195-pounder from Oakley, Calif.
Kinlaw’s brother, Rodney, also played in the Big Ten. He was a running back for Penn State in the mid-2000s and rushed for more than 1,000 yards his senior year.
