A car crashed into a BB&T bank branch in Summerville Thursday morning, causing major damage to the building, Summerville police said.
The wreck occurred about 6 a.m. when a vehicle traveling south on Main Street went off the road while trying to turn onto 9th Street, Capt. Jon Rogers said.
Police did not identify the woman who was driving, but Rogers said she was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
Paramedics took the woman to a hospital, but her condition could not be determined.
A call to the bank produced a message stating that the branch was closed Thursday.
