Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston is writing 22 checks totaling $50,000 to a variety of local charitable organizations.
The gifts were raised during Grace’s annual outreach fundraiser, the Tea Room and Church Mouse Boutique, held during Spoleto Festival USA.
All proceeds from the tea room and gift shop then are given away to support local charitable groups.
Grace has given away nearly $600,000 in the two decades the tea room has operated.
This year’s recipients include the Star Gospel Mission ($5,500), Crisis Ministries ($5,000), Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy ($4,000), Florence Crittenton ($3,000), Canterbury House ($3,000), Operation Sight ($3,000) and Communities in Schools ($3,000), among many others.
