Russell D. Moore will be the keynote speaker at Charleston Southern University’s 2013 Values and Ethics Series on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Moore is president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern Baptist Convention’s entity assigned to address social, moral and ethical issues.

Moore frequently speaks about issues of theology, culture and public policy. He also blogs at his Moore to the Point website and is the author or editor of five books, including “Tempted and Tried: Temptation and the Triumph of Christ” and “Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches.”

An ordained Southern Baptist minister, Moore has served as a pastor of several Southern Baptist churches. He also has served his denomination as chairman and four-time member of the SBC Resolutions Committee and as a regular columnist for Baptist Press.

Prior to entering ministry, Moore was an aide to U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor (D-Miss.).

Tuesday: Moore’s main lecture at 2 p.m. is open to the public. At 8 p.m., CSU students will hold a Q&A with Moore.

Wednesday: A chapel service at 11 a.m. is open to the public. It will be followed by an invitation-only luncheon at 12:30 p.m. and then another lecture that will be open to the public.
