Chan Gailey, former coach of the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills, will coach the National squad in the Medal of Honor Bowl college football all-star game set for Charleston in January.

Gailey also was head coach at Georgia Tech.

“The Medal of Honor Bowl is thrilled to have a very experienced NFL coach in Chan Gailey as part of our head-coaching staff for this year,” said Brian Woods, executive director of the Medal of Honor Bowl.

The Medal of Honor Bowl is set for 2 p.m. Jan. 11, 2014, at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium.

Gailey, 61, was head coach of the Cowboys from 1998-99 and the Bills from 2010-12. He was head coach at Georgia Tech from 2002-07, and also was offensive coordinator for the Steelers, Dolphins and Chiefs.
