COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin has won a second term in office.
Benjamin received nearly two-thirds of the vote Tuesday in defeating City Councilman Moe Baddourah.
Benjamin immediately began calling for approval of a referendum to give the mayor more power. Columbia voters will go back to the polls next month to decide whether to change the city’s form of government.
Baddourah says he’s ready to put the race behind him and work with Benjamin.
