Coroner identifies motorcyclist killed near fair entrance

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist who was killed near the Coastal Carolina Fair on Monday.

The motorcycle and a car collided about 5:53 p.m. on U.S. Highway 78 between Market Road and Craven Road, which is just before the fair’s main parking lot, Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.

The cororner’s office identified the dead man as Alvin Buckner, 30, of Ladson. Buckner died at the scene from injuries sustained in the wreck, according to the coroner’s cffice. He wasn’t wearing a helmet.
