Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services will honor former lawyer, legislator, judge and college president Alexander Sanders in a reception and fundraiser on Thursday.
The reception is 6 to 8 p.m. at The Mills House Hotel at 115 Meeting St. Tickets are $100 and include hors d’oeuvres and open bar.
Sanders, the former chief judge of the S.C. Court of Appeals, co-founded the Charleston School of Law and served as president of the College of Charleston. He also served in the state House of Representatives and Senate.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the Charleston Pro-Bono Legal Services, according to the release. The nonprofit organization provides civil legal services to low-income residents in Charleston County.
