Charleston Southern University has been named to two national lists for its quality of Christian education and low costs.
The private college in North Charleston has been named to America’s 100 Best College Buys for the ninth consecutive year. The list identifies outstanding colleges that offer high-quality education at the lowest costs.
The survey of more than 1,000 colleges nationwide showed an average cost of attendance for the 2013-14 school year, based on the regular cost at private institutions and out-of-state cost at public institutions, is $37,382. Charleston Southern’s cost is $30,700. Meanwhile, CSU also was named to America’s Best Christian Colleges for the 15th consecutive year for providing quality education in a Christian environment.
This annual list recognizes schools affiliated with recognized Christian denominations or interdenominational institutions that incorporate basic Christian principles and beliefs into the instructional curriculum and/or social environment.
CSU is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The annual lists are released by Institutional Research & Evaluation, an independent research organization that specializes in recruiting and retaining students for institutions of higher education.
