A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a van on Wednesday night, according to authorities.
At 7:30 p.m., 25-year-old Anthony Pinckney, of Goose Creek, was crossing College Park Road near the intersection of Crowfield Boulevard when he was struck by a van traveling east on College Park Road, according to S.C. Highway Patrol officials.
Pinckney was wearing dark-colored clothing, according to troopers. He died after being transported to a hospital, officials said.
The driver of the van, who was wearing their seat belt, was transported to Trident hospital. Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury ruled Pinckney’s death accidental. It remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
