The inaugural “Give to the Grove” fundraiser plans to raise money for after-school dance classes at Sanders-Clyde Creative Arts Elementary, a high-poverty, arts-infused downtown school.
The fundraiser will be Saturday from noon until 4 p.m. at the school, 805 Morrison Dr. Money raised from the event will be used to launch an after-school program in January during which professionally trained dancers from DanceFX will teach twice weekly ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, and hip hop classes to students.
Tickets are $5 for children 12 and under, $10 for adults, and $8 ahead of time. Individuals also can donate $20 per student to sponsor the classes.
The event will include music and dancing entertainment by students and DanceFX, food by Bon Banh Mi, and a silent auction at 2:30 p.m.
