A 26-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint on Broad Street in downtown Charleston early Thursday morning, and police tracked down the suspects through the victim’s cell phone.
The man told police two men and a woman came up to him near Broad and State streets shortly after midnight and one of the men pointed a gun at him. The trio took a wallet with his debit card, $30 in cash and driver’s license, as well as his iPhone 4, according to the report.
The victim went into The Blind Tiger to call 911. He told police he saw the trio earlier that night at the Lil Cricket on State Street.
Police asked the victim if he had tracking on his iPhone, and he said yes. Officers found the signal moving on I-26 toward North Charleston. North Charleston police arrested two men and a woman in a convenience store on Dorchester Road. The victim identified the three as the ones who robbed him, according to the report.
