North Charleston home catches fire Monday night, family displaced

A house caught fire on Monday night in North Charleston, according to fire department officials.

Firefighters were called to the home on Filmore Street at 10:30 p.m. and found smoke coming from the single-story home, officials said.

Fire crews had the blaze under control in about 15 minutes, according to fire department authorities. A family of four people was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross. No one was injured in the blaze and the fire’s cause remains under investigation.
